As part of the partnership with French public institutions within the framework of the French project to support PFI (Phase II), PFI hosted a mission of French experts from the General Directorate of Public Finance in France. A number of meetings with the directors of the tax departments within the Ministry of Finance were held over the course of the visit, which lasted a week. This mission builds on earlier efforts within the PFI collaboration with French institutions on a variety of interventions aimed at improving the work practices of tax departments. The mission included a field visit to tax offices in Ramallah to study and learn about internal work procedures, as well as to discuss issues concerning the development of tax departments’ work, and to explore prospects for cooperation that will materialize in the near term.
